Seeing Red (and not in a good way)

I've been doing this ginger dating thing for a while now.  And I've never been one to buy into the whole "gingers don't have souls" thing.  Until now.

I dated a ginger that I met on Tinder last summer for almost 5 months.  Until he told me he no longer wanted to be in a relationship with me, in the parking lot of a Korean BBQ, after I had just paid for the meal.  And then I found out he had cheated on me and is now "in a relationship" with THAT girl on Facebook. Grrrrr.

So after a month-long man cleanse, I ventured back onto Tinder/OkCupid and got asked out on a date by another lovely ginger.  We had a wonderful time, did some fun stuff (wink, wink), and then agreed that we would "totally" meet up again.  So we texted back and forth for a few days, talked about "goals" for future hang outs, and then......nothing.  Just nothing.  Like BANG, out of nowhere, he just stopped responding. Now, I'm no stranger to guys who go ghost.  I am a single female Millennial after all.  But I have NEVER been ghosted by a ginger before.  His loss, right? Little did I know...it was the start of a trend in my life.

Just last week, I met up with a ginger for trivia night with his coworkers.  It was fairly awkward, seeing as how I didn't know any of them, or him for that matter, and the event didn't leave a whole lot of time for conversation.  And then of course afterward we all got stuck waiting for the same metro for 10 minutes until the train came.  Anyway, we were supposed to go on a second-chance first date tonight.  We just talked about it on Monday.  Today is Wednesday.  Typically, every morning, I get a "Good morning, gorgeous!" text from him on my way to work.  Tuesday morning rolls around...no text.  So around 11 am I sent him a "Good morning" text.....no response.  This morning, I tried again with a little humor. "Two days in a row and no good morning text? Hmmm".....nothing.  A little bit later, I tried again, "Sooo...I'm going to assume that your failure to respond indicates that we are no longer bowling tonight...?"  Still nothing.  Of course, at this point, I'm hoping that he's lost his phone or fallen off a cliff or something because clearly that's the only reason why he wouldn't respond to my texts.  Literally the last texts we exchanged were confirming that we would be bowling on Wednesday.  WTF?!  This guy seemed to be really into me. I don't know what happened.  Regardless, it did.

At this point, I'm starting to think that maybe the critics are right.  Maybe gingers do NOT in fact have souls...or maybe they DO in fact steal souls.  Because, even though I have always been a ginger ally and advocate, I am seriously reconsidering my stance.  Gingers, beware!  YOU WILL NOT GHOST ME AGAIN!

Thank you.

Justified in my choice to love gingers

Its official! The internet has discovered that gingers may be genetically superior to all other hair colors! I mean, obviously. Hello? How can you resist a cute ginge? I certainly can't, but you know that already.

The downside to dating gingers

The wonderful thing about gingers is that they are a rare breed.  As they make up only about 2% of the global population, a ginger sighting is a delight for me.  And since ginger lovers such as myself seem to be few in number, is it not often that I have competition.

Sadly, I recently discovered a downside to dating gingers.  I received a text message from one of the young men I am currently seeing, informing me that he would be "out of commission" for an unspecified length of time.  Turns out, he just found out he has skin cancer and will require surgery to remove it.  Not just the usual scraping either, but a full-blown surgery.  Serious stuff.  And once he's had one, he's very likely to have more.  And starting at such a young age (28), I can only imagine this is quite upsetting to him.  So yes, while I am quite fond of gingers and their lovely freckly skin, it seems I had forgotten that their skin makes them highly susceptible to developing skin cancers.

Please, if any gingers are reading this, or if you know any gingers, advise them to take care of their delicate ginger skin.  We have to protect this rare breed and ensure the continuation of their species.

Ed Sheeran Concert....again!

Saw my favorite, Ed Sheeran, in concert tonight! Wow, he's come a long way since I saw him open for Snow Patrol in April 2012. Back then, I was the only person there for him. Now, I was there with over 500 other people...mostly screaming teenage girls. Oh, and did I mention that there was a huge thunderstorm, complete with hail, before the (outdoor) concert even started?! Yeah....so I got a little drenched. But he was definitely worth the wait and I'm so happy I got to see him again. Thanks to my dad for buying me a ticket as an early birthday present. Gingers never go out of style ;)

I went from this:                                                                              To this:

Best news ever!

REPORT: Prince Harry And Cressida Bonas Are Over - http://huff.to/1kjL73Y
Woo! I mean, so sad that my favorite ginger is back on the market. And they said he was going to marry this girl...ha! Guess she couldn't hack it.

Are you kidding?

Seriously?! These girls must not be Harry stalkers like I am. This poser looks nothing like the real Prince! His face is wrong, his hair is the wrong shade, and his body type is nowhere near Harry's. What a disgrace.  Just goes to show that American girls will fall for any random guy with an accent.
